Nanda Vigo (1936-2020) studied architecture in Lausanne and apprenticed in San Francisco before returning to Italy where she befriended artists in the Italian branch of the ZERO group such as Giò Ponti, Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani, and Piero Manzoni, eventually partnering and living with Manzoni. She worked on projects such as the cemetery in Rozzano and the Zero House in Milan. She was quoted once as saying, "I was following the vision of the great Giò Ponti; he approached spaces in a global way, from the small spoons to the art. I always saw architecture, design, and art together as one in my projects." (Artforum, "Nanda Vigo 1936-2020", May 18, 2020)

She went on to design in other media, including lamps, furniture, and residential interiors. During her career, she was featured in at least thirteen Zero Group exhibitions, received the New York Award for Industrial Design in 1971, participated in the 40th Venice Biennale in 1982 and the Milan Triennale in 2006, and curated a 1997 exhibit on Manzoni. She was celebrated for her pioneering work with light and transparency.

This rare portfolio from the important female designer and architect contains 21 lithographic plates for various designs of Vigo's, including projects in Venice, Pisa, Graz, and at Galleria del Falconiere in Falconara. On the inside portfolio leaf is printed the text, "Pensare che la verità sia nella forma è come pensare che lo schermo su cui si proietta un'immagine sia la forma stessa."

Very rare; as of July 2026, OCLC does not locate any copies of this work in institutional libraries outside of Italy.
