According to the biography on her own website, Macha Poynder (b. 1962) is a Russian-born artist who has studied and worked in Paris and New York. She has had solo and group exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Paris, London, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and others, has her work in public and private collections around the world, and has collaborated with brands such as Chanel and Hermès. She is inspired by the principles of Abstract Expressionism.
She has created a number of artist's books over the years, in various media. #19E, created in collaboration with publisher and author Marc Dachy (b. 1952) is one of those books. According to the colophon page, it was conceived and realized between February 19 and March 5, 1991, in New York, and was produced in a very limited edition of only 19 copies. The pages contain lithographs of original black pastel drawings by Poynder and writings by Dachy, printed on heavy ivory wove paper.
A scarce artist's book; as of March 2026, OCLC locates two holdings in North American institutional libraries.
