The Hermannsburg School in Bremen was a mix of children receiving standard education and children with disabilities or special needs. The 5th grade at the Hermannsburg School put out an assembled periodical, Das Nashorn, from 1990 through 2019, according to our research. The journal was supported by well-known international artists who supplied illustrations and other contributions, including cover art. "Das Nashorn erscheint drei- bis viermal jährlich in einer einmaligen Auflage von 99 handgefertigten Exemplaren und wechselnden Titelbildern, diesmal von Alison Knowles, Barrytown, N.Y., USA".

This deluxe edition from Knowles features a hand-signed print of one of her collages to the front cover. Additional contributions within the issue came from artists such as Daniel Spoerri, Dieter Roth, Uwe Timm, and Peter Ruzicka. Alison Knowles (American, 1933-2025) was a core member of the avant-garde Fluxus movement, as well as the sole woman associated with Fluxus early on (she participated in the 1962 Wiesbaden performances). In later years, Knowles became known for her installations, event scores, performances, prints, and publications. She would often use ordinary objects such as books, beans, shoes, and strings as her points of departure. She also performed her event scores around the world, inviting audiences to participate and assist in the events. In 2022, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive hosted the first retrospective devoted to her work.

Very scarce; as of June 2026, OCLC does not locate any holdings of issues of Das Nashorn in North America.
