Original decorative wrappers, stapled and reinforced with black cloth tape. Corrosion to binding staples, some pages disbound, toning to wrappers, light soiling and staining, some mild damp-staining and foxing to interior, overall good. Tel Aviv: Defus P. Naidet u-veo, n.d. This rare work of anti-British cartoons was possibly suppressed by the British authorities in Tel-Aviv. The humor present in these drawings is mild, and was likely published around the same time that the British imposed martial law in the Jewish areas of Palestine after a run of terrorist attacks against the British forces by right-wing Zionists.

The cartoons are captioned in English and Hebrew, and show images such as British troops being cheered after World War II and then setting up barbed wire barricades in those same streets; criticisms of Uncle Sam, British Prime Minister Ernest Bevin, Sir Richard Stafford Cripps, and other politicians; and drawings of displaced person camps, immigrants, and even a morgue.
