Folder with edgewear, creasing, light soiling, some small tears at corners, one of the images with foxing to the fabric, a few of the others with only minor spotting or toning to mount only, overall very good. Ronaldo Azeredo (1937-2006) was a Brazilian concrete poet working in active avant-garde circles in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a member of the Brazilian Noigandres group, and his poems were included in the Exposição Nacional de Arte Concreta held at the Museu de Arte Moderna in São Paulo in December 1956 and at the Ministério de Educação e Saúde in Rio de Janeiro in January 1957. It was the first time in Brazil that poetry, sculpture, and painting were exhibited alongside each other. Three of his best-known poems were "ruasol", "oesteleste", and "velocidade".

In later decades, he experimented with different forms of poetic and artistic expression, producing "map poems", "puzzle poems", "score poems", and poems in fabric. He also frequented the studio of artist Alfredo Volpi (1896-1988), the biggest financial backer of Ronaldo's work. Panagens came out of this time in Azeredo's life. Consisting of ten "poems in fabric", the cardstock sheets include abstract and geometric shapes as well as figurative images of things like lungs and butterflies. The layout and final design was executed by Azeredo's wife, Amedea Azeredo, and published by Volpi.

Of this work, Azeredo himself abstractly wrote, "... ah! as “panagens”, cartões com tecidos, a Amedea artefinalizou, 50 exemplares artesanais, “Alfredo Volpi tornou possível esta edição” (assim como todas as da década de 70); metamorfoses: borboleta, pulmão, morcego, e uma única palavra: “arfar”, com o “f” convertido em ícone alado, borbolet(r)eando no azul do dia, vampirizando-se à noite, o tal “f”; fatal..."
